Here We Run For Change

HER running community welcomes people from all backgrounds. We recognize that the world we live in boasts people of all different skin tones and we celebrate those differences amongst our own members.

Here We Run supports our members and we stand on the front lines with them when they are faced with hardships and injustice in our overarching community. The issues within the systems that African Americans endure directly affects our members and do not go unnoticed. We have made it our mission to impact change in society by providing members with the information and resources necessary to productively get involved.

We demand change alongside our members and actively participate in campaigns and movements that will effect that change.

HER Voice

HER Voice is an open discussion amongst HER members via IG Live. It is a part of HER continued efforts to impact change. We utilize HER platform to uplift the stories, concerns, and calls-to-action of HER black members. Encouraging them to have an open dialogue with HER fellow members, each conversation is held to increase awareness and understanding within our community so that we may continue moving towards a more equal community for all.

From June 5th to the 7th the HER community accepted the invite to join Justin Shields and Tyler Standley in running 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 miles, the amount of time the officer held his knee on Floyd’s neck (8:48). In an effort to bring awareness to the unjust treatment of African Americans through the police system, Justin and Tyler created this movement and asked people to donate to a GoFundMe. All the proceeds were given to Campaign Zero, an organization fighting to end police brutality.
