Nike Pegasus 37 - An Evolution of Exceptional Performance
The Nike Pegasus. No extraordinary thought put behind the name but it seems fitting for a shoe that gives the sensation of flight. Half air, half shoe, the Nike Pegasus has stood the test of time. Remaining one of Nike’s most reliable and recognizable running shoe, we felt it was only right to shed some light on the beauty and all around awesomeness of HER running shoe.

The Pegasus was created as “the shoe for every runner”. A top pick amongst both recreational and elite runners, the Nike Pegasus has become a shoe that runners know intimately well. Each model evolving from the next, the Nike Pegasus has undergone major changes, adopting some of Nike’s latest innovations in running technology. Its evolution has only made the Pegasus more dependable and more equipped to take us further and faster in miles.
The Legacy - A Story of Exceptional Performance
Women’s marathon pioneer and HER inspiration, Joanie Benoit Samuelson is no stranger to the exceptional performance of the Nike Pegasus. She began wearing the Nike Pegasus in the late 1980s that started a long and trusted relationship with the training shoe. In 2008, Joanie was about to run what was supposed to be her last marathon at the Olympic trials. Experiencing calf problems at the time, Joanie was worried that she may have to drop out of the race entirely. Refusing to let her last run be one that she couldn’t finish, she put down her racing shoe. “I trusted the Peg so much that rather than wearing a racing shoe, I ran with the Peg”. That year, Joanie broke the sub-2:50 mark and continued her career. Guess that wasn’t her last race after all, “the Peg has afforded me the opportunity to have that longevity that I’ve enjoyed for so many years”.
Nike Pegasus 37 - What’s New?
The Nike Pegasus 37 boasts the line’s high value in innovation, functionality, and design. Much of the updates in the Pegasus 37 are in its technology.
Dissimilar to the Pegasus 36, the Nike Pegasus 37 possesses a Zoom Air bag at the forefront of the foot (great for speed). This new Zoom Air bag is twice as thick, offering a more cushioned strike and higher energy return but HER Pegasus 37 is also more flexible. In HER Pegasus 37 the Zoom Air bag is less pressurized than the men’s, wholly informed by women who wanted a less stiff ride.
The Nike Pegasus 37 takes advantage of Nike’s latest React foam technology. Replacing the former Cushlon foam, the entire midsole is React foam and is lighter, more responsive and more durable.
Nike Pegasus 37 - Looks Good, Feels Good, and Handles the Miles!
Sleek and fast, the low profile of the Nike Pegasus 37 is surprising considering the amount of technology Nike has stuffed inside. The familiar rubber waffle outsole provides for the Pegasus’ durability, allowing runners to go further. But what really has us excited about the updated look of the Nike Pegasus 37 is the translucent upper. The layering of the materials gives the shoe some character in our opinion and allows for some really cool colorways, such as the one you see here. But besides looking super cool, the new durable and engineered upper is also lighter weight.
